Description: The Marquette County Solid Waste Management Authority is a dual stream recycling facility. Via a residential curbside collection and drop off service, we receive recyclable materials in two streams: Fiber and Rigid. We operate a small scale MRF and baler on site. Rigid (plastic/metal/glass), materials are separated in the MRF. Glass and ferrous material is removed. Currently we market a 1-7 bale product. Our fiber product is a residential mix comprised of OCC and mixed paper. This product is baled on site and shipped to market. Currently, we receive 155/TPM. 70% Fiber and 30% Rigid. The overall goal of the program is to provide a cost effective recycling option for the municipalities of Marquette County, local school districts/universities, and civic groups. The program is available to those who choose to participate. Currently, 15 of the 22 municipalities of Marquette County participate in our dual stream program.
