Description: Maria, founder of Unlimited Recycling established in 1999, is a “One-Stop-Shop” company specializing in waste disposal management, waste assessments and recycling services for solid, universal, sorted office and organic waste. The high demand and awareness in waste reduction/recycling has given the company an opportunity to expand services into building cleanouts. In addition, they offer equipment rental, including compactors, balers and dumpster roll-off services. Maria is an Alumni member of Stanford Graduate School Of Business of Stanford, CA and a mentor for the Stanford University Hispanic Entrepreneurship Program. She graduated from the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurs Leader Program in Cohort #3, winning Unlimited Recycling, Inc. 1st place in SLELP 2016 video competition. Unlimited Recycling has been recognized by the State of Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, and the Macomb Regional PTAC for her determination, efforts and success. In addition, she received excellent ratings from the United States Army for the completion of a 5-year waste and recycling contract. Unlimited Recycling graduated with honors from the SBA 8(a) program in 2012 and is currently a member of MDOT, Wayne County Airport Authority, WEBNC and Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Description: American Waste is a privately-owned and operated family business, founded by Edward Ascione Sr. in 1971, and established as American Waste by his sons Eddie and Michael Ascione in 2002. The American Waste family of companies includes Northern A-1 Environmental Services and Specialized Safety Services, both of which are headquartered in Kalkaska. We have 10 locations and 400 employees in Michigan, and a Northern A-1 office in Pennsylvania. American Waste operates two Material Recovery Facilities: • Kalkaska construction and demolition MRF, operational since 2008 • Traverse City single stream residential and business MRF, operational since 2011 Our Kalkaska Material Recovery Facility was one of the first construction and demolition recycling facilities in Michigan.
