Materials and Waste Management
The
Division of Materials and Waste Management is charged with promoting alternative management options that reduce reliance on landfills and ensuring that waste management facilities are constructed and operated in compliance with applicable laws.
Local Solid Waste Management Planning
Ohio law requires each county in Ohio to be a member of a solid waste management district (SWMD). Each SWMD is responsible for ensuring the safe management of solid waste generated within the SWMD and must demonstrate how the SWMD will achieve the goals established in the state solid waste management plan. More information can be found on Ohio EPA's
