Description: The Eaton County Department of Resource Recovery (ECDRR) is the designated implementing agency responsible for the development and administration of the County Waste Management Plan under Public Act 641. In 1993, a Solid Waste Ordinance was enacted in Eaton County with the purpose of protecting and promoting public health, safety and welfare of residents. Through the Solid Waste Ordinance, solid waste collection, transportation, delivery and disposal can be regulated, residents and businesses are provided incentives to recycle in order to reduce the volume of solid waste disposed, and the environment is preserved and improved. ECDRR is a resource to Eaton County residents. Tips on recycling, reuse and waste reduction are readily available during office hours, Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm at (517) 543-3686. Special collection events are organized each year to accommodate the proper disposal of wastes such as Household Hazardous Waste, Electronics, Scrap Tires, Books, and more. Click on UPCOMING EVENTS for details. Year-round programs include Collection Points for the following: Household Batteries, Cell Phones, Mercury Thermometers, and Cooking Oil Recovery. The Freon Recovery Credit Program and a Medical Sharps Mail-Back Program are also available. Click on Resource Recovery Programs for details. ECDRR provides information from local recycling centers but each center operates under the municipality in which it resides. Drop-off at 417 State St in Kipton for mixed paper and cardboard bins are available 24 hours in the parking lot. The rest of the recycling is through curbside pick-up in carts. You must subscribe to trash pick-up to get recycling. You may take many items to the Lorain County Recycle Center if you are a Lorain County Resident if you do not subscribe to trash pick-up.

Our on-site and off-site services offer a convenient way to comply with local, state and federal laws and ensure for the responsible recycling of electronic waste, all battery types, bulbs and ballasts. Additionally, we are suppliers of NEW battery types from brand name manufacturers as part of our cradle-to-grave service. We specialize in the decommissioning of Mission Critical Infrastructure Assets such as UPS (Battery Back-Up) systems, Interconnected and Ancillary Devices as well as their respective battery type through our on-site full turn-key service offering. Other services we offer are IT Asset Management and Industrial Asset Recovery. We provide various size collection containers for the proper storage of e-waste, batteries, bulbs and ballasts.
