Description: Anyone can bring their recycling to this facility but must pay in the office, $5.00 per truckload. If you are a City of Houghton resident and you have missed your recycling day, please still enter the office and let them know your address and what you are doing. Please see below for the full listing of acceptable items. HOUGHTON CITY AND HANCOCK CITY RESIDENTS ONLY CURBSIDE RECYCLING MUST BE AT THE CURBSIDE BY 7AM ON YOUR SERVICE DAY. RECYCLING MUST BE IN BINS or TOTES SO CONTENTS CAN BE IDENTIFIED. Please follow the guidelines below. All items must be cleaned of food/organic matter and liquids. Please crush or flatten cardboard and plastic materials where possible. Description: CORRUGATED CARDBOARD & PAPER - Open Mon.-Fri. 8am to 4:30pm, Sat. 8am to 3pm. No Sundays or Holidays. A large "red dumpster" is on site for your use (100 Hill Rd., Denver, PA), located behind municipal building. Dumpsters are marked. Corrugated Cardboard: A fluted or corrugated sheet and one or two flat liner boards, similar to shipping boxes (not cereal boxes). Break down cardboard to fit into slots. Paper: Computer paper, envelopes, index cards, manila folder, paper, stationery, carbonless paper, junk mail, pamphlets, newspapers, magazines, phone books (not the covers), etc. No plastic grocery bags. CFL bulbs, cell phone drop off in lobby.

Free admission to Pizza Buffet every Wednesday when you bring a bag full of recycling materials to show from 5- 7 pm and get a wrist band from club members. All materials can be combined in the same bag, tin cans, plastic, paper, cardboard. As long as there is no food in the bag it will be able to be recycled.
